Marcus Giles (2B, Padres):  Returned from the DL having recovered from a strained knee.

Manny Ramirez (OF, Red Sox):  Is expected back in the lineup early this week.  He’ll get playing time since the Sox want him primed for the playoffs.  Hopefully he’ll really be Manny this time around.

Rich Harden (SP, A’s):  Should be back for at least one start next week but he’ll be on a tight pitch count.

Bartolo Colon (SP, Angels):  Came back off the DL, but was hammered in his first start back.  He may be healthy but the question remains, can he still pitch?

Danys Baez (CL, Orioles):  Has a torn ligament in his right elbow.   He’s likely done for the season.

Torii Hunter (OF, Twins):  Could be facing suspension following an argument and ejection over a called third strike on Friday night.  Odds are he wouldn't miss time next week but it could happen.

Geoff Jenkins (OF, Brewers):  Could be facing suspension following an argument and ejection over a called third strike on Friday night.  Odds are he wouldn't miss time next week but it could happen.

Paul Lo Duca (C, Mets):  Could be facing suspension following an argument and ejection over a called third strike on Friday night.  Odds are he wouldn't miss time next week but it could happen.

Antonio Alfonseca (RP, Phillies):  Was suspended four games for intentionally hitting Todd Helton with a pitch.  He’s appealed the suspension but still is likely to miss at least 2 games next week.

Josh Hamilton (OF, Reds):  is reportedly done for the season due to a hamstring injury.

Gary Matthews jr. (OF, Angels):  Won’t be back this week due to his sprained ankle.  He won’t be rushed back before the playoffs.  Cut him.

Daniel Cabrera (SP, Orioles):  Was suspended six games by MLB for intentionally throwing a pitch at the head of Dustin Pedroia on Sept 7th.  He’ll miss at least one start.

Alex Gonzalez (SS, Reds):  Injured his knee on Wednesday and as of yet hasn’t been back.  Don’t count on him next week.

Richie Sexson (1B, Mariners):  will not play next week due to soreness in the tendons of his left hamstring.

Chris Duncan (OF, Cardinals):  Will miss most or all of next week following hernia surgery.

Ryan Doumit (OF/C, Pirates):  Will miss the rest of the season with a badly sprained ankle.
