Justin Verlander (DET) SF, @SD - weak opponents. Jered Weaver (LAA) NYN, @PHI - could be a lot of runs scored Randy Wolf (SD) @NYA, DET Other Two Start Pitchers: Brandon Backe (HOU) @BAL, @TB Paul Byrd (CLE) @COL, @LAN Kyle Davies (KC) @STL, SF Ubaldo Jimenez (COL) ATL, NYN - both at home. Andrew Miller (FLA) @SEA, @ OAK - weak opponents Jamie Moyer (PHI) BOS, LAA Mike Pelfrey (NYN) @LAA, @COL Greg Reynolds (COL) CLE, NYN - both at home, ouch. Carlos Silva (SEA) FLA, @ATL Ian Snell (PIT) @CHA, TOR - pitched well his last time out. At the top three hitters parks Citizens Bank Park (Phillies): 3 v. Red Sox, 3 v. Angels Great American Ballpark (Reds): 3 v. Nationals, 3 v. Diamondbacks. Coors Field (Rockies): 1 v. Braves, 3 v. Indians, 3 v. Mets At the top three pitchers parks PETCO park (Padres): 3 v. Tigers Metrodome (Twins): 1 v. Yankees, 3 v. Orioles AT & T Park: 3. v. Tigers Ratchet Them Up: Chone Figgins (2B, Angels): Returned from the DL and appears to be healthy. Plug him back into your lineup. Jason Isringhausen (RP, Cardinals): Was activated from the DL and could soon figure into the closers mix in St. Louis once again, but he’s no longer an automatic return to that role. Matt Kemp (OF, Dodgers): Was reinstated following a suspension. Get him back in your lineup. Jake Peavy (SP, Padres): Returned to the mound after an elbow injury. He looked solid in his first start back. Eric Byrnes (OF, Diamondbacks): Will be reactivated in time for next week’s games. He’s coming off a hamstring injury so his running might not be great. Troy Percival (CL, Rays): Returned from the DL and took back closer duties. Rocco Baldelli (OF/DH, Rays): May be just weeks away from returning to the big team. If you have room to gamble on an uber-talented outfielder you might want to stash him way now. Matt Holliday (OF, Rockies): Returned from the DL. Rick Ankiel (OF, Cardinals): Seems to be past the infection in his knee and can safely be plugged back into lineups. Ratchet Them Down: Chipper Jones (3B, Braves): Was struck in the eye by a ball fouled off his bat during batting practice on Friday. Keep your ear out for info this weekend, and to see if it throws off his hot hitting. J.J. Putz (CL, Mariners): Was placed on the 15 day DL with a hyper-extended elbow. J.J Hardy (SS, Brewers): Has a strained rotator cuff and will miss some time. Xavier Nady (OF, Pirates): Hit the wall hard trying to catch a foul ball on Sat and may have hurt his shoulder. Shawn Estes (P, Padres): Was placed on the DL with a broken thumb. As if you needed another reason not to own him..... Albert Pujols (1B, Cards): Is expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a calf injury, but it’s likely the Cards won’t reactivate him and let him go have the season ending surgery he needs so that he’ll be ready for next season. Scott Hairston (OF, Padres): Has a hyper-extended left elbow and will probably get some time off this week. A trip to the DL is not out of the question. Max Scherzer (SP/RP, Diamondbacks): Was demoted to AAA to get more innings as a starter. He’ll be back, the question is when. Vernon Wells (OF, Jays): On Saturday Wells apparently re-injured the wrist he had previously broken about a month ago. He was just off the DL. Moises Alou (OF, Mets): Was placed on the DL for what seems the 100th time this season. Rafael Soriano (CL, Braves): The Atlanta pen got a little bit thinner as Soriano went on the DL with an elbow injury. Tom Glavine (SP, Braves): Was placed on the DL with a torn tendon is his arm. He’s likely to miss at least a month. Victor Martinez (C/1B, Indians): Was placed on the 15 day DL but will miss at least 6-8 weeks following surgery on his right elbow. Alfonso Soriano (OF, Cubs): Will miss 4-8 weeks with a broken hand suffered when he was hit by a pitch on Wed. Ryan Zimmerman (3B, Nationals): Will be out at least another month. Ryan Church (OF, Mets): Was placed on the DL due to lingering effects of a concussion suffered on May 20th. Dontrelle Willis (SP, Tigers): Was designated for assignment. He may well be released. Jerry Hairston Jr. (2B/SS, OF, Reds): Was placed on the DL with a broken thumb. He’ll miss several weeks.
