He’ll test his oblique in a minor league rehab assignment early in the week. Albert Pujols (1B, Cardinals): Returned to the team after 15 days on the DL. Billy Butler (DH/1B/OF, Royals): Has been recalled to the majors after regaining his footing at the minor league level. He’s a serious four category threat if is ready to hit major league pitching. It’s a good gamble. Moises Alou (OF, Mets): Is on pace to return to the DL in time for next weekend’s series, oops.. make that he’s on pace to return to the Mets. Mark Mulder (SP, Cardinals): is finally back from the DL and could provide some quality pitching as he rounds back into shape. Unfortunately after all the surgeries he’s had over the past three seasons there is no way to project just how good he could be. Carlos Pena (1B/DH, Rays): Returned from the DL. Get him back into lineups where you need power. Gary Sheffield (OF, Tigers): Returned from the DL and promptly began hitting again. Ryan Church (OF, Mets): Should be reactivated this week. Jerry Hairston Jr (2B/SS/OF, Reds): Returned from the DL - he’s got speed and average if you need them. Ratchet Them Down: Dan Uggla (2B, Marlins): Sprained his left ankle on Saturday. How much time he’ll miss is up in the air. Hideki Matsui (OF, Yankees): Was placed onto the DL with a knee problem. He could face surgery and miss significant time but the Yankees hope some rest will let him heal enough to continue playing. Magglio Ordonez (OF, White Sox): Could miss some time this week due to an abdominal injury. It might be nothing more than a spasm however. Lastings Milledge (OF, Nationals): Injured his groin and appears to be headed to the DL. Matt Albers (SP, Orioles): Is likely done for the season after an MRI revealed a torn labrum in his shoulder. Kason Gabbard (SP, Rangers): Was placed on the DL with left elbow inflammation. Coco Crisp (OF, Red Sox): Will miss three games this week due to suspension.
